Vera Louise Williams, a resident of Morris, AL, was born in Monroeville, AL, on July 4th, 1933 and she passed away peacefully at the Jacob’s House in Hayden, AL on May 2nd, 2017 at the age of 83. Vera graduated from Excel High School, Excel, AL and she graduated from the Hillman School of Nursing, in Birmingham. She had a long career as a RN and retired from Medical Center East. She was a member of Hughes Memorial Baptist Church.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Tunie and George Cooper Wiggins; husband, J.B. Williams; sisters, Edwina Wiggins, Juanita Geddert, Alsie Sims, and several half sisters and brothers;
Vera is survived by her two sons, Jerry Williams (Karen) and John Williams, Jr. (Donna); grandchildren, Alan Richmond Williams (Peyton), Susan Grace Cain (Lynn), Lori Williams Peffer, John Williams III; great grandchildren, Zayne and Zaylee Williams, Emma Grace, Maddilynn, and Grayson Cain; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, May 6th, 2017. Visitation beginning at 10:00am; funeral service at 11:00am followed by her burial in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Pinson, AL.
