Taylor Thomas Whitbeck, 24, passed on September 17, 2015 from complications surrounding a lifelong illness. He was the beloved son of Christie Lynn Branson Whitbeck and the late Thomas Earl Whitbeck, as well as the cherished sibling of Callie Lynn Whitbeck.
Taylor graduated from Seven lakes High School in Katy, Texas in June 2009. He received a bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from Texas State University in 2013 and had the opportunity to intern at the Austin Film Festival. His original inspiration to become involved in theater was when he landed the lead role of Puck in Mid-summer Nights Dream his 8th grade year.
Taylor will be remembered most for the enthusiasm and optimism he embodied throughout his life and his keen sense of humor and wit. As he struggled each day with his disability, he was never a man of worry or complaint. He wanted nothing more than to inspire the world with his knowledge and love for cinema and to simply be there for his friends and family.
He is survived by his mother Christie, sister Callie, grandparents Karen and Jim Branson, Uncle Lonnie Branson and wife Amber, Uncle Todd Branson and wife LeAnn, Uncle Jim Whitbeck, Uncle Frank Whitbeck, Cousins Stefanie Whitbeck, Meredith Allgood, Connor Branson, Tatum Branson, Cooper Branson, Alice “Grandma” Stagner and cousin Rick Stagner. He was also survived by his honorary family Sarah Randall, Hannah Randall and brothers Cole and Parker Randall. Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Whitbeck and grandparents Frank and Mary Whitbeck.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. The memorial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 4:00pm.

The Whitbeck family will forever be grateful to the many wonderful doctors who helped Taylor be with us for 24 years. Taylor’s humor, enthusiasm for life, and comforting presence in our daily lives will be greatly missed. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin and friend.
