Four hundred years ago, Saint Joseph was chosen as the "Patron Saint of the country and Protector of this emerging Church" according to the vow made by the Recollet Father Joseph Le Caron during a ceremony bringing together all the inhabitants. Thus, 2024 marks the 4th centenary of Canada's consecration to Saint Joseph. 

At Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal, this anniversary will be celebrated from March 10 until October 19, the date commemorating the foundation of the Oratory. For 400 years, Joseph has been at work in the heart of our lives and our history. 

As this year marks the 4th centenary of the patronage of Saint Joseph in Canada, the Oratory invites you to take part in the Novena to Saint Joseph, which will run from March 10 to 18, 2024 under the theme "Joseph, Companion of our History."
