A funeral service for Glen Alfred Allen, 87, of Karnack, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Downs Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas. He was born on January 27, 1935, in Webster County, Mississippi and passed away on January 26, 2023 in Shreveport, La.

Glen worked for the Gas and Oil Industry as a pumper as well as being a co-owner of Allen Amusement Service. He was a Christian who loved the Lord and enjoyed watching Charles Stanley. Glen was a huge CB radio enthusiast who made lots of friends over his many years spent on the radio. While he of course loved spending time with his family and friends he especially liked sitting on the deck of the lake house enjoying the views of Caddo lake watching boats go by and the kids swimming which was almost always paired with a hot dog or hamburger. His family would probably tell you though, that his favorite past time was riding around on his golf cart spraying weeds and ant beds with his jug of round-up.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred Morris Allen and Myrtle Wilma Shepherd Allen; sons, Tony and Jeff Allen; grandson, Christopher Allen and great grandson. Alexander Morris.

He is survived by his children, Terry Allen and wife Rita and Angie Weldon and husband Pete; sister, Billie Gay Smith; grandchildren, Layla Allen, Amber Baldwin and husband Phillip,  Brad Allen and wife Mary Beth, Andy Allen, Will Weldon and wife Hassie, Matt Allen, Nick Allen, TJ Allen and wife Brittany, Dusty Allen, Luke Allen and wife Liz, Tony Joe Allen and Windy Austin and husband Chad, Alexandra Favalora, Alysia Braun and Allison Braun; great grandchildren, Cash Allen, Annabelle Allen, Ashlie Allen, Ella Allen, Major Weldon, River Weldon, Joey Helen Austin, Harley Austin, Rylin Allen, Carter Allen, Maci Allen, Austin Wingo, Addison Tucker, Eliana Favalora and Charli Braun, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Circle S Grocery and neighbors Manuel Tamez and Chip Pickens for their love, kindness and support.

Visitation will be held at Downs Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a funeral service starting at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mae Carter officiating. The service will end in Downs Funeral Home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959
