TARIN KOT, Afghanistan – Chief Warrant Officer 2 Robert Gross III, brigade targeting officer for 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, is currently serving with Combined Team Uruzgan at Multinational Base - Tarin Kot, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Gross, a native of Madison, Ala., and a graduate of Bob Jones High School and Columbia College in Columbia, Mo., arrived in theater in November 2012. Gross has served in the military for 17 years. This is his sixth deployment, and third with his wife, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Megan Gross.
Many soldiers have been away from their children for important holidays, and with Father’s Day approaching, Gross had a few words for his daughter, Nicole.
"Hey Nicole, your mom and I miss you very much,” Gross said. “We can’t wait to see you. We love you and will see you soon!”
Gross is scheduled to return to Fort Stewart, Ga., in the upcoming months.
