    The first time round I was too young to watch. The second time round I was usually working, and so missed yet again this fabulous series. The immediacy of the film, the struggle of the characters to maintain a normal life in an abnormal situation is vividly brought to life in this nearly forgotten masterpiece. The stories are relevant today. Interfering In-Laws, yearning to grow-up and escape the constraints of ones family. Worrying about your children, marriage break-up, all of lives ups and downs played out against the on-slaught of the Luftwaffe, rationing & poverty, and for once not filmed in London.
