    Great tool for heavy digging

This type of spade makes heavy digging much easier, my stony ground is however taking its toll on the blade which is chipping and bending. Not sure if a higher quality one would alleviate the chipping and bending or if it’s inevitable given the stones I have. Currently sticking with lump hammer and file to reshape blade.

    Poor quality handle beech wood.

I got this item to dig 15mm new trench for flower border. I have to say that the pole is very small (120cm ) for large projects and extremely light weight. The pole is made from very poor quality beech wood. The first attempt on the ground it broken into two parts. I would recommend buying only the hoe and find a better pole elsewhere.

  • Most handy tool ever

This 'so called' Dutch hoe may well be that, but to me, it also masquerades as the most useful construction tool typically used in Asia. Not only can one use it in the garden as hoes are, but it also mixes concrete effortlessly. Because of it's length, it makes light work work of groundwork, where other hand tools inflate one's chiropractioner bills!! Used on it's side, it levels ground smoothly and for tough and stubborn underground roots, it slices through and excavates them for breakfast. I have used the back of the head to knock down masonary as it's so heavy duty and with deft action it can be used as a rake.......... Add this tool to your garden collection and reap the benefits, it will last for years and I forgot to mention, you can also buy replacement shafts and heads as needed. ...

  • Excellent garden tool

Good quality garden hoe, made of solid steel and at 2 and a half lbs, easy to use. The handle is of suitable length and made of solid polished wood, quite impressed. It doesn't need the user to bend so much, making it easier on the back. Its quite sharp and cuts into the ground quite easily making the job in hand much easier. I bought this hoe to clear a patch in my garden in preparation for re-turfing and I am so happy that this product didn't disappoint me.

  • So far so good!

I’ve only used this for one day but boy has it made digging weeds out of the garden easier than I’ve ever known before I can’t tell you! I wish I’d discovered this tool much earlier in life! I’m a slight woman of senior years (60) and I’ve found it extremely easy to use, even not being able to swing it too high it cuts into the ground and through roots like a knife (not tree roots they’re a lot harder...but not impossible) The only problem I’ve found so far is the spade will only stay in place for a short time and then it falls down the handle so I’ve had to hammer it back into place...that’s why I haven’t given it 5*....so...have a hammer to hand! It’s a bit annoying but worth the few minutes it takes to hammer it back into place. Whether doing this will prove to eventually not work I ...
