Stunning Salome
Catherine Malfitano, one of the greatest singing actresses of our age, takes on one of her finest roles in a very erotic production. This is a DVD showing her in fine voice and being able to execise all of her dramatic skills. Her 'Dance of the Seven Veils' is here performed as it is intended--a sensual taunt--and Malfitano shows both the dancing skills and body to pull it off. I saw Malfitano perform this role on stage, and have added this DVD to me collection which already contained her performing the role at Covent Garden. It was copied from a VHS tape, and not produced from the original film. An excellent performance ruined by a shoddy copy
