Hazel Clements

April 24, 1933 — August 18, 2017

Hazel Lorean Clements , 84, long time resident of Abilene, Texas left this world and went to Heaven, after a long battle with Alzheimer, Friday afternoon, August 18, 2017. Hazel was born the 7th of 13 children to B.D. “Bud” and Mary “Sue” Roark in Lyon, Mississippi on April 24, 1933. In 1959, she moved to Texas, where she met the love of her life, James Maurice Clements and together they remained in Texas and raised their family of three daughters. Hazel was a devoted mother and volunteered her spare time with her church’s thrift store.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; her husband of 57 years, James Maurice Clements; her two daughters, Ginger Dinsmore and Judy Carter; her three brothers, Randy, Homer, and Buck Roark; and her five sisters, Mary Fletcher, Viola Hudson, Edith Furniss, Imogene Furniss, and Etoy Morris.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Janis Kay Clements and life partner Alvin, five grandchildren, Christi Dinsmore, Shon Richey, Courtney, Lindsey and Kirtis Ward; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronny Roark and wife Susie; three sisters, Doris and husband Delma, Janean and husband Harold, Glenda and husband Pete; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She touched the lives of many and we are all comforted by the fact that she is finally at peace and no longer suffering. The family would like to thank everyone for their support and love during this difficult time, especially the caring staff at the Giddings Nursing and Rehab.
