The usually low-key Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen went all out for their 33rd birthday. The fashion moguls celebrated the day by going out for an intimate dinner along with Ashley’s boyfriend, Louis Eisner, and Mary Kate’s husband, Olivier Sarkozy, and his daughter Margot. While the twins kept to their usual color palette of black and tan, they did both don headband tiaras with the words “birthday girl” on them.
The sisters were photographed going to Harry Cipriani at the Sherry-Netherland Hotel above Central Park before they went back to Ashley’s apartment for an hour. They then headed to Milos in midtown for dinner.
While the Olsens are rarely spotted in public, they recently stepped out on the red carpet two times over the last couple of months. First they attended the Met Gala for the first Monday in May followed by the CFDA Awards earlier this month. The fashion designers took home the award for Accessory Designers of the Year.
The press-shy duo opened up for a rare interview in April for British Vogue, where they discussed their careers in fashion and their disinterest in being public figures.
“We’ve been there, we’ve done that, we started out that way,” Mary-Kate said of growing in Hollywood. “But this is the way we chose to move forward in our lives: to not be in the spotlight, to really have something that speaks for itself.”
