Origin
The superficial palmar arch gives off three common palmar digital arteries.
Course
The common palmar digital arteries course distally on the lumbricals. They anastomose with the palmar metacarpal arteries arising from the deep palmar arch.
Branches
Each common palmar digital artery divides into two proper palmar digital arteries which course distally along sides of each digit.
Supplied Structures
The common palmar digital arteries provide the bulk of the cutaneous supply to the palmar aspect of the hand (i.e., the region excluding the skin overlying the thenar or the hypothenar eminence).
