Customs authorities managed to seize 4,200 hallucinogenic tablets, which were seized on board a tourist car in Tiaret, according to a statement of the General Directorate of Customs today, Thursday.

In the context of the continuous field efforts of the operational services of the customs teams, exerted in the framework of combating smuggling in all its forms, especially the smuggling of narcotics and psychotropic substances, the agents of the multi-tasking squad, affiliated to the departments of the Customs Inspectorate in Tiaret, in the jurisdiction of the Regional Customs Directorate in Chlef, seized 4,200 hallucinogenic tablets of Pregabalin 300 mg, they were seized tightly hidden in different parts of a tourist car.”

The statement explained that the operation shows “the readiness of Algerian customs agents, and their full mobilization day and night in order to protect the national economy and contribute to combating everything that threatens the health and safety of the citizen.”
