For a plant that grows so big, the seeds are unbelievably teeny tiny.

Annual in all zones.

This tall purple Amaranthus has fabulous majestic form and spectacular, long-lasting flowering Summertime heads!

All of them are show-stoppers in the garden and this variety may be the showiest of all.

Impressively tall – up to 6’ or 9’ – ‘Giant Purple’ bears massive flower heads of the most beautiful purple color.
The spikes last a long time and remain attractive long after bloom. Produces a small edible dark red grain.
Nutritious, it can be ground into flour or cooked like oatmeal, or just leave them on the plant for the birds !

Young leaves should be harvested before the plants are even 10" tall if growing for the greens.

Grain can be grown and harvested even in USDA Zone 5. Rich soil for best show! To 2' wide.

When grown in pots,raised bed or inground.
This plant self-sows.

Healthy seeds and great customer service! I thought my package was lost when the tracking status said it was delivered while hadn’t arrived. I contacted the seller immediately and she was more than willing to send out a new package. It turned out my package arrived a couple hours later. I don’t know how the tracking status and the actual arrival of the package didn’t match up! Anyways, I’m glad things are working out now and thanks to the seller for more than willing to take the loss to satisfy the customer.
