'The Simon & Garfunkel Story' to make stop in Bartlesville on the Oklahoma leg of US tour

"The Simon & Garfunkel Story" takes place at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Bartlesville Community Center.

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel may not perform together anymore, but people around the world have been profoundly moved by the gorgeous harmonies in "The Simon & Garfunkel Story" which makes a stop in Bartlesville on Jan. 19 on the Oklahoma leg of its U.S. tour.

The concert-style theater show tells the story of the folk-rock duo from their early recording days as Tom & Jerry when they were teenagers from Queens, New York, to their ultimate stardom as one of the best-selling music acts of the '60s. It includes their dramatic breakup and culminates with their reunion show in 1981, "The Concert in Central Park," which became a double-platinum live album. 

With state-of-the-art video projection, photos and original film footage, the show is backed by a live band to play audiences all the favorites including "Mrs. Robinson," "Cecilia," "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "Homeward Bound."

With more than 100 million records sold and songs that captured the hearts of generations of fans, Simon & Garfunkel is considered one of the best duos of all time with 10 Grammy Awards to their name. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003 followed by a Grammy Hall of Fame honor for "The Sound of Silence."
