As per Rwanda import data, Rwanda’s top 10 imports in 2019 were Mineral Fuels & Oils (16.7%), Machinery (9.2%), Electrical Machinery & Equipment (8.6%), Pearls & Precious Stones (7.5%), Cereals (4.2%), Articles of Iron & Steel (3.5%), Iron and Steel (3.3%), Animal or Vegetable Fats & Oils (3.2%), Pharmaceutical Products (3.2%) and Sugars & Sugar Confectionery (2.7%).
Rwanda import statistics show Rwanda’s top 10 import categories accounted for 62.1% to overall value of import shipments which enter into the country in 2019 through all modes of transport. As per Rwanda trade data, the value of machinery increased in 2019 as compared to the previous year, while value of mineral fuels & oils declined from 2018 to 2019. According to Rwanda import data, Rwanda’s top 10 import partners in 2019 were China (USD 635 million), India (USD 280 million), Kenya (USD 278 million), Tanzania (USD 269 million), United Arab Emirates (USD 244 million), Saudi Arabia (USD 152 million), South Africa (USD 124 million), Switzerland (USD 114 million), Germany (USD 92 million) and Turkey (USD 75 million.
