Campomanesia xanthocarpa (Gabiroba Boliviana) is a semi-deciduous tree with a tall, dense, pyramid-shaped crown, ranging in height from 4 - 20 meters. The grooved bole can be 30 - 50cm in diameter. The edible fruits are greatly appreciated within the plant's native range, where it is gathered from the wild and also cultivated in home gardens and orchards. It is often sold on roadsides in Brasil and is known to fruit around six years old.
