Seahawks sign LS Clint Gresham to a three-year contract

Longsnapper is one of those positions you never worry about or probably even think about unless there's a bad snap on a punt or field goal. In the Seahawks' case, there haven't been many (any?) bad snaps in those situations over the past few years, and Clint Gresham has been a mainstay for Seattle since 2010 and guess what? He'll be around for a few more years, as the Seahawks inked him to new contract.

Gresham's deal is for three years and is worth $2.705 million. He got a $300,000 signing bonus.

So, one less thing to worry about. It's a relatively thankless job but it is nice not having an adventure every time the punt or field goal team steps onto the field.

Gresham played college ball at TCU and was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent before he caught on in Seattle. He's 28 years old and the chemistry he has with both Jon Ryan and Steven Hauschka is likely a big part of the reason the Seahawks are bringing him back.
