Born Morton Horwitz in Brooklyn, New York, he was the only son of Shemp Howard of the Three Stooges, and Gertrude "Babe" Frank. Mort was a brilliant entrepreneur who graduated high school at 15, and went on to attend UCLA. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. On February 18, 1951, he married Geraldyn Mankoff. He appeared as himself in "The Three Stooges Greatest Hits(1997), "The Three Stooges Family Album"(1998), "The Three Stooges 75th Anniversary Special"(2003), "Shemp Cocktail: A Toast To The Original Stooge"(2008), and "Hey Moe! Hey Dad!"(2015). Mort's exceptional foresight, drive, and ingenuity were shown with his ownership of the original, self-service, gas stations in Los Angeles called "Ce-How" with Ben Ceson. Mort Howard died at West Valley Community Hospital, Encino, Los Angeles, California. He was 44.
