Lonnie Alfred "Bo" Pilgrim (born May 8, 1928) (died July 21, 2017) is the founder of Pilgrim's Pride.

Obituary of Lonnie Pilgrim

Mr. Lonnie Bo Pilgrim, 89, of Pittsburg, Texas was born May 8, 1928 in the Pine Community to Alonzo Monroe Pilgrim and Gertrude Gunn Pilgrim and passed away July 21, 2017 surrounded by his family at his home.

Mr. Pilgrim was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, Texas, served in the United States Army.  Bo was co-founder and longtime Chairman and CEO of Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, and Chairman Emeritus of Pilgrim Bank.  Bo was respected and known for his love for Christ, his tenacity in the business world, his generosity, and his philanthropic work. He loved to share his testimony, giving God the praise for any success that he had, and he used his success to spread the gospel. Bo Pilgrim lived a long, full life but is now home with his Lord and Savior.

Bo will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 61 years: Patty R. Pilgrim of Pittsburg, sons and daughters-in-law: Ken & Donna Pilgrim of Pittsburg and Pat & Anne Pilgrim of Lake Creek; daughter and son-in-law: Greta & Bill Henson of Dallas; 6 grandchildren: Clayton Pilgrim, Jake Pilgrim, Lonnie Pilgrim, Greta Gail Simpson, Chesley Hindman, and Shelby Owens; 3 great grandchildren: Kate, Emily, and Gracie Hindman; and sister: Sue Hester Kellam of Pittsburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Calvin, Aubrey, Harold, and Billy Carroll Pilgrim, and sisters: Betty Carolyn Pilgrim, Mary Kathryn Julian, and Margaret Nugent.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 26 at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, TX. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church. There will be a private family burial prior to the memorial service.
