Joseph Stephen "Steve" Durrett of Green County, Kentucky, son of the late Ancil Adwin Durrett and Wilma Hall Durrett, was born on Tuesday, June 29, 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky and departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Elizabethtown. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a deacon and member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Conservation Technician for Natural Resource Conservation Service and was a farmer. He sang bass and played guitar for the Gospel Singing Durrett Family and loved to hunt and fish. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Larimore Durrett on June 20, 2000 having united in marriage on April 2, 1983. He later united in marriage and is survived by his wife: having united on December 27, 2008. Other survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: a son and daughter-in-law: step-children:; seven grandchildren: a brother and sister-in-law: ; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Durrett was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: Donnie Durrett, Troy Durrett, and Sharon Bishop. The funeral services for Joseph Stephen "Steve" Durrett will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Central Time, Sunday, May 14, 2023 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Saturday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Sunday until time of the funeral service. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or the Wilson Cemetery which can be made at the funeral home.
