Family:  Congridae (Conger and garden eels), subfamily: Congrinae
Max. size:  38.7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 37 - 1647 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: off Morocco, Azores and Canary Islands, also one record from the Gulf of Guinea. Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico to Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Mouth inferior; dorsal and fin rays segmented; pectoral rather small its length equal to eye; gill-opening and anus black (Ref. 13608).
Biology:  Found on muddy bottoms.
