Aponogeton longiplumosus

Florida Aquatic Nurseries grows Aponogeton longiplumulosus as well as many of the other Aponogeton sp. used in the Aquarium plant trade.  Aponogeton longiplumulosus is an aquatic plant native to the island nation of Madagascar.  Aponogeton longiplumulosus is an excellent aquarium plant as the central focal point in a planted aquarium displaying long dark green leaves that have undulating margins.  Aponogeton longiplumulosus are bulb plants and are likely to go dormant intermittently.  Unlike other Aponogeton sp., it is usually unnecessary to remove the bulb from the aquarium during its rest period.  Just be patient and new leaves will begin to sprout.
