The monks of St. Martin of Tours rebuild the current church choir in the second half of the 15th century, around 1460. The vault of the choir is very beautiful, with its ribs falling on asses carved lamp and the original windows described as remarkable.
Around 1500, the chapter of Saint Martin of Tours gives Bannay land, and therefore the church in Matthew and John de Givry, who build some of the nave, to where is still visible in the vault recovery masonry. The Italian wars of François 1er rang. Jean de Givry officer after the King is called away from Bannay.
1562: the Calvinist Huguenots and destroy any new nave and break the original stained glass windows in the choir. Blaise, son of Jean de Givry, rebuilt the first part of the nave, but he died before the end of the work. Claude, great grand-son Blaise, takes the work and, in turn, died in 1769. This is Anne de Givry, daughter of Claude, fourth generation after Blaise in 1781 by building two towers pepper finished the church as we see today.
Thus, more than 300 years separate the great door of the background of the choir from 1460 to 1781. On this short trip, you go back in time to the 16th Louis Charles VII. The font and the confessional are of great beauty of execution and represent a great value furniture.
