Isaiah L. Harris he/him

Isaiah Harris identifies as a Black man, dance scholar, and skater. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in dance from The Ohio State University. He is the current rehearsal director for the contemporary dance company Brother(hood) Dance! His movement training background includes Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary, and West African Dance. His areas of expertise include performance. His research explores the effects of Black social dance on decreasing the number of black and brown bodies that acquire diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and stroke. His movement calls upon the dancing spirit to translate West African, Caribbean, and Black social dance within the contemporary modern dance context. His dance scholarship is steeped in the African Diaspora dances and cultural ties to the aesthetics of the West African and Black American movement.
