Tumulus remains at Bellmuir settlement
Tumulus remains at Bellmuir settlement
The Bellmuir area contains the remains of a settlement and field systems from the late Iron Age or early Bronze Age. The tumuli, or burial places, lie in the most north-easterly part of the settlement. The main site lies close to the strip of woodland with degraded cairn-type structures around it. These remains were not easy to find among the deep bracken. A narrow trail left by previous visitors led to this part of the site.
