At Castle Hill Fort, near Crawford
At Castle Hill Fort, near Crawford
This small but impressive prehistoric fort lies on a steep-sided mound on the lower slope of Castle Hill. Two steep gullies provided natural defence which was enhanced by building walls and deepening the ditches. This view shows the remains of both the lower and upper walls.
