UPDATE: October 21, 2020—After a week of drama, here's an update on how Lily James has reportedly been reacting to the Dominic West scandal. “Dominic and his wife wanted to put up a united front,” a source told Us Weekly, adding that James and West's wife, Catherine FitzGerald, “were both horrified by the pictures.”
According to the source, the controversy has “strained Lily and Dominic’s working and personal relationship too.”

Dominic West, whom you know from The Wire and The Affair, is currently in the middle of some drama after being photographed in Rome with actor Lily James.
On October 12, the Daily Mail published images of West, who’s been married to Catherine FitzGerald since 2010, and James seemingly cozying up. West and James are currently filming an adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s novel The Pursuit of Love, but the Daily Mail photos do not look to be from the set. “They worked together in the past but seem to have connected in a special way since they started filming in England over the summer,” a source told People.

People has reportedly reached out to both West’s and James’s reps for comment on the situation but have not heard back. However, West and his wife posed for some photos on October 13 in what seems to be an effort to put cheating or breakup rumors to rest. The couple took the shots outside their home in London with a piece of paper that said, “Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you. Catherine and Dominic.” (You can check out the images here.) It’s rumored that James ended her longtime relationship with actor Matt Smith.
Obviously, none of us knows what’s really going on, but it seems West is trying to get out in front of the story. James hasn’t commented on the situation yet, but you can watch her next in Netflix’s adaption of Rebecca, also starring Armie Hammer and Kristin Scott Thomas. It hits the streaming platform on October 21. West was last seen in the U.K. comedy series Brassic.
