Alexis Ohanian is proud to be Serena Williams's “groupie.”

On November 4, Drake dropped Her Loss, a new collaborative album with 21 Savage, which featured a pointed jab at the Reddit cofounder. “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie,” Drake raps on the track “Middle of the Ocean.” “He claim we don't got a problem but no, boo, it is like you comin' for sushi.”

Aside from Drake and Williams's rumored fling in 2015, it's unclear what prompted this dig, but I fail to see what exactly is “her loss.” Honestly, insults aimed at men for loving their partners are pretty tired and say way more about the people using them than the so-called groupies or simps. It seems Ohanian agrees.

In a pinned tweet posted on that same day, Ohanian shared a photo cheering on Williams with their five-year-old daughter, Olympia. “The reason I stay winning is because I'm relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do,” Ohanian wrote. “Including being the best groupie for my wife & daughter.”

“Perfect response,” one user replied to Ohanian's tweet, which currently has more than 19,000 retweets and 82,000 likes. “He's just mad because he's jealous of how you've been blessed with a gorgeous family. Keep thriving!”

Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams have been married since 2017 and regularly gush about each other to the press. “Alexis doesn’t dim my light. He doesn’t try to dim my light,” Williams told Allure in 2019. “He puts me in the light, even if I don’t want to be. He pushes me to further points I never thought about. It always was something that I could see in some relationships—my light would be dimmer. Now I feel like I can shine really bright and still do everything that I want to do.”

Ohanian wrote an entire essay about the secret to his successful marriage for Glamour. “I think if you were to ask my wife, or many other people in relationships, it’s often the simpler things that are the most important. You have to show up,” he said in 2019. “You have to be supportive. These are the things that matter.”
