Scoundrel

Roguish Archetype

Quick-Witted Shooters

Scoundrels focus on the speed of the draw, infamy, and charm in equal parts. They are constantly honing their reflexes, making impossible shots with uncanny skill.

Always Shoot First

Starting at 3rd level, your audacity calls you to shoot first and ask question later. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.

Fire from the Hip

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn how to instinctively shoot on reflex. When you attack with a ranged weapon, being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls if you attack that creature and there are no other hostile creatures within 5 feet of you.

You also gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack. On your turn, you don’t need advantage on the attack roll to use your Sneak Attack if you make a ranged weapon attack, you are within 15 feet of your target, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll. All the other rules for Sneak Attack still apply to you.

Fast Talker

At 9th level, your become adept at stringing nonsense together to distract your foes. As an action, you can force all creatures that haven't yet taken a turn in combat that can hear you to make a Wisdom (Insight) check contested by your Charisma (Persuasion) check. The creatures must share a language with you.

Every creature that fails the check is confused and entranced by your words. They become incapacitated and have disadvantage on Wisdom (perception) checks until the end of your next turn. On subsequent turns, you can use your action to maintain this effect, extending its duration until the end of your next turn. However, for each individual creature under this effect, the effect ends immediately if it can no longer hear you, or if it observes you or your companions doing anything harmful to it or any of its allies.

Once the effect ends, or if the creature succeeds on the initial ability check, the creature is immune to this effect for the next 24 hours.

Ricochet

At 13th level, you've mastered aiming your shots for a contingency if you miss. When you use the Attack action to make a ranged attack roll and miss, you can reroll the attack roll against a different target within the weapon's normal range, or at disadvantage within the weapon's long range.

Quickdraw Duelist

At 17th level, you can add your proficiency bonus to your initiative rolls.

Additionally, during the first round of combat, any ranged attack rolls you make against a creature that has not yet taken a turn in combat have advantage and score a critical hit on a roll of 18-20 until the start of your next turn.
