Who doesn’t promise to love the love of their life forever?
But how many actually live up to that promise?

Nishith Singh, a seventeen-year-old, has shared everything with the virtual world—from the pain of losing his father and being blamed for it to falling in love at first sight and being rejected. But nonetheless, he hasn’t given up on his love.
When Aahana Basu, a quintessential wife and a loving mother, comes across his blog, she is drawn deeply into his world, much to her own surprise. But when she wakes up to the sudden absence of the recurring dream the next morning, a dream she sees almost every night, and which ends at the very same point, she is left nonplussed. Are the two connected?
As Aahana finds herself falling for Nishith, she realises there’s much more to things than she sees. From coming across strangers calling out her name and greeting her to feeling an inexplicable connection with a town she visits for the first time, she is left bewildered.
Will Aahana be able to connect the dots and piece together the puzzle?
A spine-chilling tale of selfless love, A Thousand Times Over will not only make you fall in love with love but will also leave you with the desire to live up to the promises you’ve made to your beloved.

One of the few authors whom I always look forward to read is Novoneel Chakraborty because his books are so strange and the plot is so different and scary that it makes me think about the story day and night. There have been times when I have not slept whole night because of his book and yet attended college or job the next day with sleepless eyes and mind. I found another author speaking the same language as him in this latest book I am done reading named “A Thousand Times Over” written by the debutante, Sudhanshu Bisen. The book is published by Fingerprint and comes with the tagline “Never lose hope in true love”.

The book is of just 225 pages or so but its after-effect is wonderful and if an author succeeds in doing that, there can be no better compliment for him/her. The narrative is so apt that the author manages to hold you right from the first page itself. The book starts with describing how a character is ending up seeing the same dream again which is incomplete and scares her off. After which the book becomes an emotional and regular stuff of a family and by the time the 2nd half begins, the book takes the thrilling posture at its reader’s face. This is what makes this book glorious, readable and one of your new favorites. As a debutante, the magic woven in this book in terms of narration, language, emotions, characterization, pre-climax, climax, twists and turns is commendable and clap-worthy. There is nothing that the author has left in writing this book. His passion for this ambitious book is quite evident in all the pages. Yes!

The way two different stories are narrated one after another and the way it gets connected together in the 2nd half scares the reader’s mindset who never imagined that this is how the two different stories will get woven into one. The teen love story is handled with such maturity that it never sounds cliché. Similarly, the strange relationship of a married couple is also described with subtlety. And later on, when the husband discloses the reason of why he ends up sending a divorce request to his wife and the way story changes after that mesmerizes the reader in you which searches a good package in every book that he picks up. The thriller part in the end does not do the justice to the whole of the book as it becomes quite cliché at that moment but still as a debutante, this is a great stuff. I give this book 3.75* out of 5.

Thanks.

I met the author of this book on Facebook a few months back, and he suggested this book to me. Since the publishers were Fingerprint, one of my favorite publishers, and the blurb planted seeds of intrigue in my mind immediately, I decided to give this book a go.

After I finished reading the first chapter, which is a dream, I was confused. If the dream was from the girl’s POV, how could the feelings of the boy be shown (the excitement between the legs, etc.)? That seemed like an error. But even after that, throughout the story, the author does do head hopping quite frequently. I can understand that the author has used the ‘Third Person Omniscient’ technique, wherein the narrator is the all-knowing entity, but this narration technique is not recommended nowadays as it tends to involve head hopping (multiple POV’s in a single scene), which makes the read confusing as the reader gets to know the thoughts of all characters in a scene instead of just a single narrator. Also, there are too many long blocks of telling in the narrative instead of showing, which again violates the show-don’t-tell rule. It requires a lot of hard work to weave small blocks of telling into a scene, which the author didn’t do consistently. But of course, these minor technical glitches can be forgiven as he is just a debut author. With experience, he will improve.

Although veiled by a sense of mystery, a good part of the story is an ordinary campus romance. The narration, though, is good enough to make you keep turning the pages. However, I didn’t like the way the boy, without even trying to be friends, directly proposes to the girl. It seemed too forced and unnatural. But once their friendship began, things settled down for good. Since I’m not quite good as far as prediction goes, almost all the plot twists were surprising to me. The language is very good; the sentences are quite poetic at places, and the overall editing is also tight, as expected from a Fingerprint book. However, it felt strange to spot a few spelling and punctuation errors here and there, a rarity in other Fingerprint books. At one place, ‘clam’ is written instead of ‘calm’, and I noticed a few punctuation errors, especially at the end of dialogues that are followed by an action. A period should be used instead of a comma in those cases. I think the blame falls on both the author and the editor. Also, the language sometimes bordered on casual (too many f-words and colloquial lingo) to flowery (sometimes overly complicated words pop up in an otherwise simple sentence, breaking the flow). But I am nitpicking here; overall the language is satisfactory.

Some quotes are very good, especially this one: ‘Isn’t love the best festival that life celebrates?’. I liked these occasional philosophical touches that the author flavors the story with.

The characterization of both the characters is quite good. The back stories are good, and their complex relationships with their families are written with a rare eloquence. Although the story could never pull my heartstrings enough to make me cry, I could feel for the characters throughout. Till the ending of the story, I was immersed in the story, the plot twists plunging me into a sea of intrigue. But alas, then came the ending, throwing me down a cliff of disappointment. It is really weird and unbelievable, throwing black ink over an otherwise well-weaved story. Although it is a fictional book, yet only if the story is a reflection of reality does it become more relatable to readers. In that aspect, the ending, in my humble opinion, totally fails.

Be that as it may, this book is still a good one time read. I would rate it 3.3 stars out of 5. The author is talented, and I’m sure that in his next book, he will give me lesser reasons to complain and snatch a better rating from me.

‘a thousand times over’ has many magic touches for you to stick to its pages; nay, to pull you into its bosom until your finger leaves its imprint on the last page. And for some, to begin it afresh yet again.
There is appeal of the language of love, there is suspense, and of course, there is something uncanny about its atmosphere which pervades the whole book until it is explained to the benefit of the reader at the close.
But to experience these exciting feelings one has to believe in the power of love, hope, and faith on them both. Nishith’s complete faith in the power of love, an abiding hope to sustain it, and a self-refreshing blog which exists like yet another full-fledged character spread the web of magic all over the book. Nishith’s dedication, caring and selfless love is the alchemy that bedazzles the beautiful idea named Saanjh, a product of promise, which on its part blinds the reader to believing it rather than scrutinizing.
However, suspense as generated in page152 appears contrived and in page 145 not well developed. And I’m really surprised why the writer felt the need of a subtitle – Never Lose Hope In True Love - on the cover page. Or is it the message?
To me, as a reader, it dilutes a vital effect of the book, rather than strengthening it in anyway. Why not let the work itself offer the message?
Of love many things have been told all over the book; I record the following for the benefit of the readers.

“This love is a fucking drug,…” p.142.
“Isn’t love the best festival that life celebrates.” (?) p.171 – 72.
“…when you are in love there are no such things as wrongdoings or rightdoings.”p.188.
I’m happy to award this book four stars.
It’s a giveaway gift to me.

thanks for the free copy from goodreads, and congratulations Sudhanshu Bisen, for such an interesting and good novel.
i must say its one of the best novels i read in last few years. a very good plot, very well worked characters , perfect writing skills, well knitted storyline, in sum a very good and fun reading.

a very touchy love story, and interesting as well, keeps the readers binded till the end,the suspense you build forces readers every time to read few more pages and on and on...

but somehow i couldn't like the ending, i dnt say the ending is not right or not good, but somehow i couldn't like the climax, the ending of the novel. the climax doesn't come as climax as such, it can be anticipated way before the end comes. the way you have dealt with the subject of love is impressive, that innocent form of love, love in its purest form is praise worthy but the way you have draw the parallels between the hero's love for his beloved and his mother, fails to put an impact and fails to impress me . you have drawn word to word parallel between the feelings of hero for his mother and beloved and then you have also brought the final union of the hero and heroine before the ultimate departure, it complexes the idea of love... so i personally would have loved some differences clearly left in the hero's feelings for his mother and beloved, and of course a bit prolonged and different ending.

overall a very good work, quite impressed with your writing and looking forward for your next venture, thanks :)

The description of the book definitely got me. And I just had to read this book even though I wasn't planning on reading it. As a debut author I can definitely say that Sudhanshu Bisen did a good job.
The narration of the story was really nice. There is no way you could put it down once you started reading it. The story goes smoothly making you want to read on just for the sake of what happens next.
The character of Nishith Singh is intriguing. The tagline of "Hope is a good thing" definitely had me hoping for a wonderful story-line and a happy ending.
The only thing that disappoints me is the plot. Initially the plot goes smoothly a nice happy read not much twists and definitely one where you feel that it's predictable but the climax.... the part I was waiting for it just didn't come. The climax is disappointing.
And I mean really D I S A P P O I N T I N G . It's unbelievable. I really want to hit myself hard for even reading it because it feels so useless reading it at this point.
Mostly I could say it is a one time read.
Yes, you should read it for the lucid way he describes the story. The reading feels effortless and makes is definitely a book you can read once. However beware of the ending..!!

I won the book as part of Goodreads giveaway. The book was very good. Loved the story. Especially the feelings of the protagonist expressed in the form of a blog. Feels natural what a person in that situation would feel. The confusion and passion to follow even there are more major problems around. Flow of the story is also very good and natural, just the right amount of details. Loved it except for the ending. I guess I was searching for more natural ending than the unbelievable ending stated in the book. Pure love might not be between a girl and boy or like that but can be like between a mother and a son. But replacing one with the other totally, seems very very weird. I liked how the story was taking a turn at the end but the unnatural ending definitely ruined it for some part. Still worth a read.

* Book Review* 🔻
A thousand times over - by Sudhanshu Bisen.

The cover of the book is simple, and the length is about 220 pages, so it is a light read.

I do not like the romance novels much but after reading the ' A thousand times over ' i think i am going to read romantic more often. This one of the best reads of this year, as it's uniqueness and perfectness. The story is about a one sided love or simply one can say it is a love story. The protagonists of story are Ahana and Nishith. They both belong to Dehradun and shared the same college but different branch.

Nishith's father died at very young age of him, and soon around his college time, his mother also passed away. In college, Nishith fell in love with her completely and purely. But his love was one sided as when he proposed to Ahana first time, she rejected it by saying that she doesn't like him. But Nishith didn't care about her feelings towards him, he intend to love her more and more.

Soon after college period, Ahana got ingages to someone else, named Prerit. But then plot surprisingly tilts and one can not predict a thing about what is about to happen next. Were Ahaana got married to Prerit? What about Nishith's one sided pure love? And if Ahaana somehow changed and share the same feeling as of Nishith's?

"But, eventually, only one of us died that day."
~
The author brilliantly written this book with such a pace between the chapters and with well organized yet unique writing style. The characters are so amazingly developed and i don't have any word to express my love for his narration style. And I'm sure that you can't predict the plot when you started reading it. I finished reading it in less than a day as i didn't able to resist my self not read it further and so.

Recommendation? Yeah highly recommended to everyone who is reading this review. I'm definitely sure that this will be your greatest read if you pick it as the next read. Especially to every romance lover ( reader).

For a debut novel 'A Thousand Times Over' by Sudhanshu Bisen was a good read. The language is simple and narrative is good. There is a consistent flow in the story.

The thing I liked in the book was how the author has kept the names of the characters and there meanings, Nishith, Aahana and Saanjh.

For a person like me who is hopelessly hopeful the story was a pleasure to read as it made to believe if you don't loose hope everything is possible and pure love never go waste. Our main lead Nishith loves Aahana deeply and in the purest form. He respects her like he respects her mother which is mentioned in the story many a times because of this only I liked the ending of the story that he comes back to her as her son Saanjh.

The suspense is well maintained throughout the book and I like the blog posts part. Although, I have anticipated while reading that our girl must have lost memory but the reason was not known but when the reason actually unfolds it all made sense. But must say the author has made use of technology one step ahead by revealing the story by dead person from afterlife.

It's an emotional story shows the family relations, friendship and love beautifully.

My rating for this book will be 3.5 stars. It's a one time read.

Except for climax, novel had all the ingredients to be very good one, it's very easy read, took less than two days to complete the book. If not for climax, story has so many things that we all go through in our school and college life, especially people who had one-sided love story will be able to connect more, just when you feel that you're (yes, you will connect with the story so much that, you will feel its somewhat your own story, that is, if you had a one-sided love story in the past) going to get love of your life, unimaginable climax spoils all the expectation. Overall a easy read book. This is Author's first novel, we can some very good novels in future. All the best Author 👍

When you dare to sacrifice your precious life to get your true love, the Destiny too amends it's rule. Aahana experiences the same thing in her life. The story keeps reader curious to know further more. Once the reader start going through, he/she can't stop in mid. Tears, smile, thirst and suspense are the main beauty of the story. The way of writing is really spellbounding.

The author of this fiction tried to copy the Plot as well as the concept of Incarnation of a Bestselling Novel "The thing beyond Forever" by Novoneel Chakraborty but failed miserably.

the overall narration was OK.

I have already read this 14 times, trust me I never get bored of it. The climax, plots, twist and turns are just of another level. I'm in love with Nishith, Ahaana, and Saanjh.

The story about love and hope. An excellent read, will not make you want keep this book aside at any moment, would want you to finish it in one shot.
The story begins with two different scenarios and later, they converge into one in a way no one would have thought about. A unique plot, heart warming script, warm characters and an underlying mystery, all this makes this book an interesting read.
The story is contemporary, with focus on how social media is influencing our daily lives. If it was not for social media like blogs, whatsapp, instagram, this story wouldn’t exist.
It is a story about a not so happy couple, a mother and son who love each other, and then a boy who does not win his love but he is not the one to lose hope. These three relationships intertwine amongst each other and finally what we are left reading is a winner of a story.
The language is sweet and simple, no complicated jargons which makes it easy to read. Most of the plot is believable but the climax could have been a bit better, it doesn’t seem to be too real. Meaning, the whole novel seems to be today, but the way climax is dealt with, does not appear that anyone today even in true love would do that to themselves what the main characters of the story do to themselves.
Overall, it is a short story, would make you want to know more and more about the progress of the story which happens step by step and ends up with all the pieces of the puzzle coming together. Recommended read.
