Connell Waldron, one half of the central couple in Normal People, Sally Rooney’s millennial heartcrusher-turned-Hulu-weepie, spends much of the new streaming adaptation in various states of undress. But even when Connell (as played by breakout lad Paul Mescal) isn’t wearing anything else, he’s wearing a small silver chain, cinched right up by his clavicle. Men are wearing jewelry more often and more comfortably than ever have—and while, at least in GQ’s neck of the woods, that tends to mean a thin gold chain, or maybe a beaded necklace, there’s no denying that Connell’s chain fits squarely into the trend. (And anyway—does your chain have an Instagram account with nearly 40 thousand followers?) If you’re looking to borrow his Irish vibes—or you just need to get your significant other to quit asking you to buy one of your own—here are a few ways to ride the chain wave.

Miansai 1.7mm sterling silver cable chain necklace

This one should be just long enough to fit comfortably around your neckline, which means it'll feel all the more screen accurate if you're after Connell's exact look.

Maple "Figaro" chain

Been on the chain train for a minute now? Might be time to level up to something a touch more ornate.

Tom Wood Figaro Chain

A little wispier and more delicate than the rest—in a good way.

Helen Ficalora fine chain

This real-deal sterling silver number has no right being this good for just $45 a pop.
