So, how does she keep herself in top shape? Kaif includes a variety of workouts in her fitness routine to improve her stamina, strength and flexibility. We have broken down a few of the ways she keeps herself fit.

1. Strength training

Strength training is just as important as cardio, even if you’re not looking to bulk up. It helps you tone your muscles, work on your core, and fasten your metabolism. Here, we see Kaif spending a session in the gym as she works on her lower back with does some deadlifts.

2. Pilates

Kaif often turns to Pilates to work on her flexibility, balance and core, under the guidance of celebrity trainer Yasmin Karachiwala. This video shows the two of them practicing a few Pilates routines together. Don’t be fooled though – Pilates might look effortless and graceful, but it requires immense core strength and focus.

3. Combat

All the action stunts you see on screen require weeks and months of training off screen. In this video, you can see Kaif practicing one such scene by borrowing moves from different types of martial arts to kick the bad guys’ butts.

4. Yoga

Yoga is a great way to exercise both your body as well as your mind. Kaif has been practicing Yoga for a long time – and it shows. Here, she is doing a simple butterfly stretch, in which you sit on the floor and fold your legs so that the soles of your feet are together, and your legs are making a shape resembling the wings of a butterfly. This is a great stretch to open up your hips.

5. Cardio

Those abs don’t just maintain themselves – Kaif has a rigorous cardio schedule that keeps her body toned, especially her midsection. This photo shows her doing some crunches on a stability ball, trying to keep her core engaged.

6. Dancing

It's no secret that dancers are incredibly fit. Dance forms like contemporary, hip hop, jazz, funk and whacking give you a great overall body workout that'll leave you both struggling to catch your breath and craving a massage the following day. Kaif is constantly trying out different forms and styles of dancing for her movies.

Working out wins you only half the battle – the rest is won by eating right. Karachiwala disclosed in an interview that Kaif excludes sugar, wheat, milk, fried food, alcohol and packaged food from her diet, and tries to eat whole foods that are nutritious.
