Mike Salamon plans to retire as executive president of BHP Billiton, Melbourne, Australia, (NYSE: BHP). He was group president of non-ferrous materials and a key player in the merger between BHP and Billiton. Salamon's duties will be allocated to existing members of the office of the chief executive.
