Skells
Skells are giant mechs that are armed with weapons to defeat alien life forms, first used to attack the unknown force that engaged war upon the Earth. On Mira, you can use them to mainly defeat the indigens and other alien lifeforms with much greater ease than doing it on foot, and it will also allow you to defeat more giant indigens. Skells can also have their appendages destroyed in which the corresponding weapons are unable to be used until you repair your Skell. All Skells also use Miranium as fuel, requiring that they be recharged back in the BLADE Barracks. If for whatever reason you lose your Skell, you will have to go back to the BLADE Barracks and pick it up, as well as pay for the repair fees or abandon the Skell. However, if you have just recently obtained your Skell, all Skells come with Skell Insurance, which will cover all insurance fees three times.
To obtain the ability to ride Skells, upon finishing Chapter 6 in the story mode, you will be rewarded with a free Light Model Skell as well as be able to ride them. Once you finish Chapter 9 in the story mode, you will be able to unlock the flying module, which will allow your Skells to fly! There are three different types of Skells that you can ride: Light, Medium, and Heavy. You can buy new Skells in the Armory Alley or create new Skells yourself. They come in Lv. 30, Lv. 50, and Lv. 60 variants. Lv. 30 Skells cost around 200,000 to 500,000 G to buy, Lv. 50 Skells cost around 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 to buy, and Lv. 60 Skells can only be made from blueprints. Skells also have their own individual arts that come from the different equipment that they have. They also feature something called Cockpit Time, which sometimes triggers in the middle of a fight that resets all ability cooldowns! All Skells also have the ability to bind large enemies, which builds up TP and stops large enemies from moving.
Light Skells
The Light Type Skells have low HP, but make up for this with their high Accuracy, Evasion, and excellent mobility during combat. They have a low fuel capacity, but low fuel consumption during flight. There are three different models of Light Skells: The Formula, Wels, and Urban models.
Medium Skells
The Medium Type Skells are well balanced and easy to maneuver. They have highly durable armor on each appendage, making their individual parts difficult to destroy. There are two different models of Medium Skells: The Lailah and the Inferno models.
Heavy Skells
The Heavy Type Skells have the highest HP and Physical Defense. They have the highest fuel capacity, making them a good choice for pilots who use powerful weapons that are high in fuel consumption. In turn, because of their weight, they have poor mobility during battle. They also have high fuel consumption during flight. There are two different models of Heavy Skells: The Mastema and the Amdusias.
