Flower: Green elongated cluster
Leaves: hairless, shallowly scalloped around the edge, lateral veins nearly perpendicular to midvein. Basal leaves; lance-oblong, 1-2+ feet long and to 3 inches wide, flat to slightly wavy, become smaller and more crinkled around the edge towards top of plant
Fruit/Seed: seed, wrapped in dry brown “wing”
Height: 3-6 feet
Flowering: June - July
Habitat: fens, seeps, shores, stream banks, marshes, wet ditches, swales
