Habitat and Ecology

This chub typically occurs in large, medium-gradient, moderately clear streams and rivers with clean gravel bottom; often in shoal areas with moderate flow (Lee et al. 1980); over gravel and rubble in riffles, runs, and flowing pools of clear, small to large rivers (Page and Burr 2011).
