Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary today. From being good friends to vowing to be each other's life partner, the couple has come a long way. They are also proud parents to nine-year-old Aaradhya Bachchan.

WHEN ABHISHEK AND AISHWARYA MET FOR THE FIRST TIME
Abhishek and Aishwarya met for the first time in 1999 for a photoshoot of their first film together - Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (which released in 2000). “It was our first film together, and I expected a diva. Instead, she was disarmingly wonderful,” Abhishek had said in an interview. The couple liked each other's company and remained friends after the film's release.
WHEN LOVE BLOSSOMED BETWEEN AISHWARYA, ABHISHEK
After Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Aishwarya and Abhishek did another film together in 2003 - Rohan Sippy's Kuch Naa Kaho. But they developed feeling for each other only in 2005 -2006, when they shot for Umrao Jaan. "That's where it all happened," Abhishek said in an interview.
Talking about their relationship, Abhishek had said, "So she'd been a dear, dear friend, and we'd worked in so many films together. The universe conspired to bring us together."
THE PERFECT PROPOSAL
In 2007, Abhishek went to shoot for a film. During his time in the Big Apple, Abhishek would think about being married to Aishwarya while sitting on the balcony of his hotel room. So, he decided to propose to Aishwarya on the same balcony.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Abhishek had revealed, “I was filming in New York for a movie, and I used to stand on my balcony of my hotel room and wish that one day wouldn't it be nice if I was together with [Aishwarya], married? So I took her to the very same balcony, and I asked her to marry me.”
The actress instantly said yes, and they tied the knot on April 20, 2007.
ABHISHEK, AISHWARYA WELCOME AARADHYA
On November 16, 2011, Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. The couple became proud parents to Aaradhya after four years of their marriage.
