Robin Williams’ ‘Mork & Mindy’ Co-Star Says Late Actor Frequently Groped Her on Set, but She ‘Never Took Offense to It’

“Mork & Mindy” star Pam Dawber reveals Robin Williams frequently groped and flashed her on the set of the ABC sitcom, which ran for four seasons between 1978 and 1982. The revelation is found in the new book “Robin,” excerpts from which were released by The Daily Mail (via PEOPLE). The biography features Dawber talking about Williams’ sexual antics on the set, but she assures fans that she “never took offense to it.”
“I had the grossest things done to me by him,” Dawber reportedly says in the book. “And I never took offense. I mean I was flashed, humped, bumped, grabbed. I think he probably did it to a lot of people…but it was so much fun.”
“Somehow he had that magic,” she says. “If you put it on paper you would be appalled. But somehow he had this guileless little thing that he would do – those sparkly eyes. He’d look at you, really playful, like a puppy, all of a sudden. And then he’d grab your tits and then run away. And somehow he could get away with it. It was the Seventies, after all.”
Dawber goes on to speak highly of Williams, calling him “such a nice person” with a “gigantic heart.” “Mork & Mindy” producers Howard Storm and Gary Marshall corroborate Dawber’s claims in the book. Storm says Williams would grab Dawber’s butt or breasts in the middle of reading lines and they’d have to start rehearsing all over again. He credits the behavior to “Robin being Robin.”
“He thought it would be funny,” Marshall says. “He could get away with murder.”
“[Robin] would take all his clothes off, he would be standing there totally naked and she was trying to act,” Marshall adds. “His aim in life was to make Pam Dawber blush.”
Williams passed away at age 63 in 2014 after taking his life due to complications from Lewy Body Disease, a type of dementia that affected his thinking.
