Kosovo heads to US to scout for national team youth talent

November 23 – The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) is looking to recruit young players with Albanian roots to represent the country’s national team in the future.

At the end of the month, the Kosovar FA will hold a training camp in the USA, with the aim of the coaches is to find “Albanian talents who one day can represent the national team”.

Players born in the years 2005-2009 will take part in the training camp in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

“The Kosovo Football Federation will organize a camp with young age groups in the United States of America at the end of this month. The contingent of national age group coaches will travel to the USA, whose purpose is to identify and discover Albanian talents in the States, who one day can represent the Kosovo national team in the respective age groups,” said a federation statement.

Player selection will be made by the current national team coaches Adil Maliqi (U19), Arbnor Morina (U17), and Ilir Nallbani (U15).

The camp open on November 28, in Orangeburg, New York, and start wit players born in 2005, 2006 and 2007. On November 29, the trial will be extended to players born in 2008 and 2009.

In Kosovo’s current national team there are players who were born in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Finland and Sweden.
