Not really prostrate - these plants semed to have piled up into a tangled mass - look more bushy to me.

2019 - There have never been agreements, so I think I need to explain my rationale - and will be adding more pics if possible.- done at last.
Firstly this is the name I found on the Species list from The City of Cape Town Biodversity site :- Index to "A Year on Rondebosch Common" http://www.biodiversity.co.za/uploads/Indigenous%20Flora%20of%20Ronderbosch%20Common.pdf
Then I also followed a link to JSTOR https://plants.jstor.org/compilation/MESEMBRYANTHEMUM.geminiflorum which is a synonym listed by the Red List - Mesembryanthemum geminatum Jacq. (later homonym), not of Haw. (1803), Mesembryanthemum geminatum Salm-Dyck, Mesembryanthemum geminiflorum Haw.
