Michael Alaimo: Four things to know on the Purdue football commit
WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana — Purdue football tried to find stability in the quarterback position in 2019, going through three signal-callers in 12 games.
Boilermaker commit Michael Alaimo could be the passer who smooths things out in West Lafayette.

Michael Alaimo had offers from MSU, UNC, and Oklahoma State football
According to 247 Sports, Alaimo had plenty of offers from Power Five schools.
Alaimo had offers from Michigan State, Boston College, California, Kansas, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and West Virginia.
Alaimo also received an offer from Yale.
Purdue offered Alaimo a scholarship on Sept. 24, 2018. Michigan State was the final team to offer (April 30, 2019). Rutgers was the first team to offer (April 29, 2018).
247 Sports tabbed Alaimo as a four-star quarterback recruit
Alaimo is a four-star prospect, according to 247 Sports.
The website also lists him as the seventh-best prospect in New Jersey, 13th-best pro-style quarterback in the country, and the 265th-overall recruit nationally.
He earned a 247Sports composite rating of 0.9076 (highest-possible rating is 1.000).
Alaimo's brother Matt plays tight end for Rutgers football
Football runs in the Alaimo family.
Matt Alaimo, Michael's older brother, is a redshirt freshman with the Rutgers football program.
Michael Alaimo appeared in all 12 games this year — starting in 10 of them — and hauled in six receptions for 60 yards.
ESPN ranked Matt Alaimo as the country's 19th-best tight end during his senior year of high school.
Alaimo attended the same high school as Patriots Devin and Jason McCourty
Alaimo attends St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey, and he isn't the program's first star football player.
New England Patriots Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty both attended St. Joseph Regional, graduating in 2005.
Devin McCourty has produced three seasons with at least five interceptions so far in his NFL career. He's notched 70 or more tackles in eight of his 10 season with the Patriots.
Jason McCourty spent his first eight seasons in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans. He totaled 18 interceptions with the team, including four in 2012.
