Alfred “Al” Clebsch III, 61, of Sterling, passed away Dec. 31, 2011, at Sterling Regional Medical Center after a brave fight with MS. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will occur this spring. Al had been living at Sterling Living Center for the last few months of his life.

Al was born on June 29, 1950, in Washington, D.C. to Al and Al Clebsch, who preceded him in death. He earned his GED and served in Vietnam with the Air Force in the late 1960s.

For most of his life he was a long-haul truck driver, most recently with Pancost Trucking in Sterling. He held many jobs in his life but one of the most rewarding was meeting kindergartners at one of the Denver Public schools through the Trucker Buddy Program. He once served as a house parent at Clayton College in Denver.

He married Margaret Miller in 1977. They were divorced in the mid-2000s.

He loved animals, had a kind and friendly spirit and will be missed by his many friends and family members.

He is survived by his sister, Kris Wilson and brother-in-law Roger Wilson of Glenwood Springs; uncle, Dr. Edward Clebsch of Greenback, Tenn.; aunt, Betsy Clebsch of La Honda, Calif.; and cousins in Virginia, Idaho, Ohio, California, Maryland, Florida and Nova Scotia, Canada.
