Former UW quarterback Jack Coan announced that he is transferring to Notre Dame

Jack Coan, who led the Badgers to the Rose Bowl during the 2019 season but didn't play this year after injuring his foot in fall camp, announced he will play at Notre Dame next season.

Coan who started 18 games and played in 25 for the Badgers, on Monday announced he is transferring to Notre Dame.

UW is scheduled to face Notre Dame on Sept. 25 in Chicago.

Coan passed for 2,727 yards, with 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions, in 14 games as a junior in 2019.

He was set to open the 2020 season as the starter but suffered a right-foot injury in camp and underwent surgery on Oct. 7.

He was in uniform for the first time Dec. 5 against Indiana but never played and eventually informed the UW staff he planned to transfer.
