Bitter Tooth Fungus - Sarcodon scabrosus These mushrooms were growing throughout a mixed forest. The caps were 5 - 10 cm wide with a central depression. They were dry with scales and were reddish brown to purplish brown in color. The spines were tan and decurrent. The stipe was brown with a greenish blue base. <br />
