Habitat

In Algeria, this species has been found in seagrass beds (Mezali, 2010). In Almerias, Spain it has been found in rocky slopes near the port at depths of 4-8m, and it is not very common there. In Cape Verde, it has been found at depths of 20m (Wirtz 2009). In the Mediterranean Sea in southern Spain (Almerias), this species is commonly found in coastal areas between 5-30m, but it has been observed at a depth of 337m (Sibuet 1974).

Uses

This species is listed as a commercial species in Turkey (Aydin 2008).
