Danneel Ackles Reveals She Tried to Set Up Husband Jensen With Sophia Bush

Danneel Ackles is revealing that she tried to make her now-husband Jensen Ackles and Sophia Bush a couple!

The 44-year-old One Tree Hill alum opened up about how Jensen, 45, became the love of her life and how she initially wanted him to be with her co-star.

During a recent appearance on the Drama Queens podcast hosted by Sophia, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Lenz, Danneel was asked to identify the greatest love of her life.

“It has to be Jensen,” she said.

Danneel then recalled trying to set up her One Tree Hill co-star with Jensen.

“Actually, I was thinking about this the other day, Sophia, I tried to hook you up with Jensen,” she said. “I don’t know why you said no, but thank you for saying no. … Do you remember that? I was like, ‘You should go on a date with him. He’s really nice!’”

Sophia recalled the scenario and elaborated on her reaction to it all.

“Yeah, and then I remember being staunchly in a, like, I’m-never-gonna-date-an-actor-again [phase] — LOL I learn lessons the hard way,” she said. “But I was like, ‘No! I’m gonna be more responsible with myself.’ And you know, he’s your perfect person so we did good.”

Sophia was married to fellow One Tree Hill actor Chad Michael Murray for five months in 2005 before they split. She later married Grant Hughes in June 2022 before filing for divorce in August.

Sophia Bush is currently making headlines, as she’s rumored to be dating retired soccer player Ashlyn Harris following both of their divorces.
