| They look stocky. The round melon connects to the long tube-like beak at sharp angle. There is a pair of teeth in the tip of the lower jaw and erupts only in males, but not visible when their mouth is closed. The dorsal fin is falcated and locates almost two-third of the body length from the tip of the rostrum. They are black or brown dorsally and lighter ventrally. They have various light color patterns in adult. The head of adults are lighter. They are pelagic. They are found single or in pods of 2 to 4 whales. |
