Anyone looking for a carpenter? We know of a few King’s Ely Acremont Pre-Prep pupils who might just be able to help!

One of the many enrichment carousel activities for our Reception children last term was age-appropriate Design and Technology sessions, entitled ‘The Workshop’.

Pupils donned their safety goggles and unleashed their creative and practical skills by working in small groups to create their own robots – all fully supervised of course!

Week one saw the children learning how to use a hammer safely, week two saw them practising how to use a bradawl and screwdriver, week three focused on using a saw to cut wood, week four involved them getting to grips with a hand drill and vice, and the fifth and final session saw them adding the finishing touches to their creations, with the likes of corks, bottle tops and hinges.

Don’t the children’s new robot friends look fantastic!
