CAROLINA HERRERA

Carolina Herrera Biography Kraimod Fashi

Carolina Herrera having full name María Carolina Josefina Pacanins y Niño was born on January 8, 1939, and is a Venezuelan-American fashion designer known for her exceptional personal style and dressing. The New York Times referred her designs as worldly and elegant without ever being fussy.

In 1957, at 18 years old, she wedded Guillermo Behrens Tello, a Venezuelan landowner, with whom she had two little girls, Mercedes and Ana Luisa. They later separated. In 1968, in Caracas, she wedded Reinaldo Herrera Guevara, who had acquired the Spanish title the fifth Marqués of Torre Casa in 1962 upon his dad's demise.

Consequently, by marriage, Carolina held the title The Marquise partner of Torre Casa, until it was withdrawn in 1992, as Reinaldo had issued no son. Her husband is a special-projects editor of Vanity Fair magazine, and they have two girls, Carolina Adriana and Patricia Cristina, and six grandkids. In 2009, Herrera turned into a naturalized United States resident.

Frequently associating with Mick and Bianca Jagger and Andy Warhol, at Studio 54, she turned out to be notable for her sensational style. She previously showed up on the International Best Dressed List in 1972, and then was elected to its Hall of Fame in 1980. A notable Park Avenue boutique, Martha's, consented to feature her attire in their display windows.

Upon this underlying achievement, she came back to Caracas and raised capital to fund a more formal launch. Her first runway appears in 1980 included future supermodel Iman.
