The federal government has seized more than $10 million from the Pojoaque Pueblo.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the tribe set aside the funds after its previous gambling agreement with the state expired in 2015.

It was allowed to keep its casinos opened until a new compact was signed last year.

Pojoaque Pueblo leaders and the state remained at odds over the share of earnings in the two-year period.

The U.S. Department of Justice ruled $10.1 million will be seized from the pueblo.
